From neck and low back pain to headaches and digestive issues, acupuncture has been known to address pain and discomfort of all different types of severity. Due to its incredible healing properties, it can be used alone or in combination with other therapies.
Acupuncture has the ability to fine-tune overall health and enhance the effects of many different health care modalities. Integrative Health & Rehabilitation provides safe, natural acupuncture to patients both young and old.
Why Acupuncture?
Chiropractic care focuses on the main control panel of the body, while acupuncture is aimed at maintaining the health of the body’s individual outlets. With the help of this therapy, we are able to offer the most thorough care possible. Acupuncture promotes relief of several ailments, such as:
- Neck pain
- Back pain
- Headaches
- Sciatica
- Arthritis
- Tennis elbow
- Achilles tendonitis
- Blood pressure problems
If you are living with one or more of these symptoms, acupuncture may be a good health care option for you. Be sure to reach out to our practice for details regarding your specific condition.
The Procedure
The acupuncture needles we use come in what’s called a guide tube. To place each needle, the guide tube is pressed against the skin where the problem is located. When the tube is pressed down on the skin, the skin beneath is pulled tight. This prevents the pain fibers on the surface of the skin from being irritated, allowing the needle to be inserted without pain.
No Need for Needle Nerves
Integrative Health & Rehabilitation understands the anxiety sometimes associated with needles. Our practice uses only sterile, single use needles. Unlike hypodermic needles, which are used to inject medication into the body, acupuncture needles are solid and barely thicker than a hair. More often than not, patients experience little if any discomfort while receiving acupuncture.
